Philosophy

The philosophy of George’s Bistro is very simply stated by Sheri Rifold, “Everyone is family — from our staff to our customers.”  Don’t expect to be scolded for not finishing your vegetables, but once you have visited a few times, do expect to be recognized and greeted with a hug and a kiss.  And as members of the family, the Rifold’s hope that you will be honest with them and tell them if something is not up to their standards!

This family-based philosophy would not be successful without real attention to detail on all levels at both locations.  As George says of his wife and daughter, “These women are perfectionists. They won’t compromise! They dogmatically follow the road of being relentless on quality and service.”  “The field of culinary science is like being a professional student,” says Sheri. “No one can know it all and anyone who says they do are full of it!”  And because there is so much too learn, no one can do it all.  There needs to be a team of people to work together — from the chef to the bussers — everyone makes a contribution to making sure that the customer’s dining experience meets their expectations and the expectation of the restaurant itself.
