Meet the Family George’s Bistro is truly a family business. Our family includes everyone who works at the restaurant as well as everyone who dines there. But we would like you to meet the members of the Rifold family. George and Sheri Rifold have brought their passion for food, conversation and hospitality to their two George’s Bistro locations. While neither have had formal training as chefs, both have lived and worked in the restaurant industry for decades. These days if you are in George’s you will see them there almost every day. Diana and Jennifer are the Rifold’s two daughters. Both grew up in the restaurant industry (literally as they did their homework at George’s in Santa Monica and napped on the tables). Diana followed her mother’s early career into banking but could not escape the food bug that was in her system. From the time that she was 13, staff would come to her to know in what sections they were working, how many covers they had served and how the business and food were that day. Diana is now the General Manager of George’s Bistro in Valencia and is the walking, talking epitome of the family philosophy. When Jennifer has escaped the day-to-day involvement in the restaurant, her commitment to the family business is often seen, as she appears to help out on busy nights and weekends.But here is the real family — our staff and customers!
